I think the image is very effective at drawing the reader's attention because of the direct gaze. I think the house style fits with the magazine's genre, because the black and red colours are similar to KERRANG! magazine. Improvements could be made with the use of blank space. There is too much blank space on the page, you could improve this by either adding more coverlines or making their font bigger.
I like the house style as the colours really contrast each other so that everything stands out and is easy to see/read. I love the circle with "Win.." in as it is similar to the logo of the magazine and makes the information stand out. It also looks very professional. The picture is good as it uses direct address to draw in potential readers.
I think that the title of the magazine could be slightly bigger as the main cover line seems to be bigger, however, some magazines do have this style. The pictures across the bottom could maybe use some borders around them just to make them stand out more. Also, the spare space around the picture could be used to add some more information or coverlines.
