I have updated my page spread further so that it looks as close to a real magazine as possible. I have organised my text into columns so that it looks more like my style models and competitions. I have moved the pull quote over to the right next to the picture the emphasise the pose of my models. I have used the words "Teenage Dirtbag Exclusive" one the top right of my page because this will be the first thing my audience see's as they flick through the pages and it will catch their attention.

The house style of this spread shows that you have kept a consistent house style throughout the magazine. This is important as every magazine has a house style and it looks very professional.
ReplyDeleteThe picture is very good as it incudes the same people as are on the front cover, showing that they are the main feature of the magazine. Their facial expressions and body language connote that it is an alternative/rock magazine.
The quote is a sign that you have used style models to find different conventions for your magazine and this one works well!
One improvement you could make is that the first bit of text (after the "W") could be slightly bigger as it is introducing the article. This might also fill up some of the space between the title and article.
Another suggestion is to make the picture on the right slightly bigger. Part of their legs may be off the page but the picture would stand out more and be more eye-catching.
I like the house style of this double page spread as the black contrasts against the black and makes it stand out more, as i can see you have kept a clear house style through your front cover, contents page and double page spread. I like the photograph on this page as the pose the models are doing reflects the genre of the magazine well although the image could be bigger as a convention on some double page spreads is the image spreads across one page. I also like the pull quote on the image and this also reflects the genre of the band the magazine are interviewing. Another feature i like is it includes the magazines name on the top of the page with a buzz word Exclusive which makes the audience feel like they're getting something no one else can. One improvement i would recommend is to fill the blank space with more of the article or something else to fill the space on the spread.
